Jan 16- The Disability Rights Association of Goa (DRAG) has cautioned panchayat secretaries, Sarpanchas, and BDOs of criminal action under the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016, if Gram Sabha meetings to be held this month are not accessible to persons with disabilities. Such inaccessibility violates the Act and Directorate of Panchayats orders of May 2023, reminded DRAG. Inaccessible gram sabha meetings deny persons with disability their right to participate in the meetings and decision making of the village, DRAG pointed out.
