Sept 29 – A 28-year-old man who jumped from Galgibag, Canacona bridge allegedly in an attempt to commit suicide was rescued by lifeguards. The man who hails from Sristhal, Canacona jumped from the bridge but got stuck in the sludge below the bridge as there was less water in the river on account of low tide. A passerby noticed him and informed lifeguards and Canacona police. The man was eventually rescued by lifeguards.
