Digital Goa, October 10 – Mandrem Police have registered a case against the owner of a hotel for allegedly impersonating the proprietor of Ashvem, Mandrem based resort, and fraudulently publishing the property’s name and images online to divert bookings. According to police, between August 21 and September 16, 2025, the accused used the website oyorooms.com/15908 to mislead customers intending to book rooms at the resort. The scam caused a reported loss of Rs 19,69,368 to the complainant’s business. The offence has been registered under sections 336(4), 356 of BNS, and 66(D) of the IT Act, 2000 & IT Amendment Act 2008
