Digital Goa, July 23 – Self-harm attempt by a local resident was averted by police during the ongoing CRZ violation related demolition drive at Temwada, Morjim, on Thursday. The incident occurred when the person allegedly attempted to harm himself as his house was being demolished under orders of the High Court. On-duty Mandrem police personnel intervened, prevented the attempt and placed him under supervision. The demolition is part of a High Court-directed drive to remove 23 structures found to be in violation of Coastal Regulation Zone (CRZ) norms. Thursday marked the fourth consecutive day of the operation. Local residents said the man was under severe emotional distress as demolition of his house commenced. They also said the family has a child with a disability.
