The Goa Deposit Refund Scheme Authority has notified annual participation fees ranging from Rs 10,000 to Rs 1 lakh for manufacturers, including producers, importers and brand owners, registering and participating in the Deposit Refund Scheme (DRS). Under the October 16 notification, the Annual System Participation Fee is Rs 10,000 for turnover up to Rs 100 crore; Rs 25,000 for turnover above Rs 100 crore and up to Rs 250 crore; Rs 50,000 for turnover above Rs 250 crore and up to Rs 500 crore; and Rs 1 lakh for turnover exceeding Rs 500 crore.In addition, govt has also notified the Packaging collection fees for manufacturers.The Reverse Collection Fee is Rs 10 per metric tonne (1,000 kg) for glass, rigid and flexible plastics, metal cans and liquid packaging boards such as Tetra Pak. For multi-layered packaging, the fee is Rs 12 per metric tonne. Taxes will be charged additionally.
