Digital Goa, July 29 – A businessman from Navelim was allegedly cheated of ₹2.28 lakh after fraudsters advertised 12 new air-conditioners for sale online but failed to deliver the goods. According to Margao Town Police, the complainant transferred a total of ₹2,28,000 through multiple UPI transactions between March 26 and April 2, believing the AC units would be delivered. Police said the accused even arranged for a person to visit the complainant’s shop for inspection and pickup, making the deal appear genuine. After receiving the money, the accused allegedly stopped responding to calls and messages.
