Digital Goa, July 12 – Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC) Court Margao has rejected the discharge application of the activists in the Chandor protest case of November 2020. Activists had filed discharge applications stating that charges filed against them be dropped. The activists said that they will challenge the JMFC order. Next hearing in the matter is scheduled on August 2. Pointing out that they were singled out from a crowd of thousands of people including MLAs, activists alleged that it was a case of sheer harassment. “We are confident of acquittal in any case because of our legal position,” said one of the activist, Abhijeet Prabhudessai. Thousands of people had protested at the Chandor Railway crossing on November 1, 2020 against Railway double tracking project.
