Digital Goa, August, 12 – A Margao woman was allegedly cheated of over ₹6.51 lakh after being induced by a cyber fraudster to download a malicious APK file that gave access to her mobile phone.According to the complaint filed by the lady, the incident occurred between June 9 and 10. After downloading the APK file, she received multiple OTP messages on the mobile number linked to her bank account, which she ignored.She subsequently discovered five unauthorised transactions through net banking and UPI, resulting in a loss of ₹6,51,105.60.
