Digital Goa, Apr 7- CM Pramod Sawant chaired a review meeting to address issues related to the mining of major and minor minerals in Goa. He said various government departments—from the Collectorate to the Environment Department—have been directed to streamline processes and resolve concerns raised by mining block lease holder companies.

▪️ Sand mining stalled due to pending CRZ permissions
On the issue of sand mining, Sawant noted that operations are currently stalled due to pending Coastal Regulation Zone (CRZ) permissions, which fall under the jurisdiction of the Government of India. “Once that is cleared, the issue will be resolved,” he stated.

▪️ Single window clearance system for sand mining on cards
The government is also considering introducing a Single Window Clearance system for laterite mining through the Directorate of Mines. Currently, 28 laterite mining applications are pending environmental clearance, and the Deputy Director of Mines has been instructed to expedite follow-up on these cases.
