Digital Goa, Jan 13 – Save Goa, Save Mhadei front today announced that the meeting will be held at Sakhali itself, but at the changed venue of open ground next to Virdi-Amona bridge at Sakhali at 4 pm on Jan 16. Organisers made announcement regarding the changed venue at Azad Maidan in Panaji today. A group of NGOs from across Goa have formed a united front Save Goa, Save Mhadei to protest against the diversion of Mhadei by Karnataka. Agitators alleged that the govt delegation which went to Delhi came back with directive from home minister to throttle the voice of the agitators. Govt must understand that massive agitation by people over Mhadei would further strengthen Goa’s case in Supreme Court, opined the protestors. Chief Officer(CO) of Sakhali Municipal Council had revoked the permission given to the Jan 16 meeting at Sakhali Municipality ground yesterday citing clash of date with weekly Sakhali bazaar.
