Feb 14- Mhadei Bachao Abhiyan(MBA) slams Goa govt over Mhadei river diversion issue. MBA questioned the rational behind spending over Rs 3.2 Cr on legal fees towards Mhadei case in last 5 years without any noticeable outcome. MBA also pointed out that lakhs of rupees were spent to send legal experts to Delhi earlier this month when there was hardly any possibility of the matter being heard by Supreme Court as it was listed at 117th number. Anticipating that the matter would not be heard, Karnataka had not sent their legal team to Delhi, MBA highlighted.State govt incurred an expenditure of Rs 3.2 crore over the the past five years on legal fees related to the Mhadei water dispute and the declaration of the Mhadei Wildlife Sanctuary as a tiger reserve, the state legislative assembly was told in a written reply by Goa Environment Minister Aleixo Sequeira in the recently concluded session.
