Digital Goa, June 8 – CM Pramod Sawant today reiterated that the outsiders are largely responsible for the heinous crimes in the state. He gave the latest example of three women who came from Delhi by train just two days back and already committed two chain snatching crimes in Mapusa and Bicholim. “Goans are largely peace loving people and would not commit heinous crimes like murder. Goans mostly commit crimes related to property or family matters and at the most some injury”, he said after inaugurating newly established Mardol Police Station. Most of the crimes are committed by migrants, he said and called upon the people to remain alert and responsible to reduce crime rate in Goa by getting police verification done of their tenants. Earlier, DGP Jaspal Singh said that the Goa Police has increased the police presence on roads in last two months and positive results are already seen with the decline in crime rate. He further said that the community outreach programme – samadhan – is amicably resolving 50 to 100 public grievances every Saturday thereby preventing litigations.
