Digital Goa, Mar 12 – Misconceptions and false information spread about Dabolim Airport with the intention of ‘rescuing’ it will cause more harm to operations at the airport, alerted Airport director Dhanamjaya Rao. Dabolim is costlier is a misconception, in fact the operating cost of Dabolim is less, he asserted. “Good operations are there. Dabolim will continue to grow. It has good potential,” he said. Goa being a leisure destination sees more traffic on weekends and holidays, Rao informed. When queried about stopping of operations by Spicejet, Rao said that the airlines last operation at the Dabolim Airport was in Oct 2023 and that it was strategic decision on part of the airlines to stop operations at Dabolim. Spicejet had moved its operations to Mopa during the winter schedule.
