Dec 26 – Goa govt has set a capping of 1.4 lakh on number of beneficiaries who can avail financial assistance under Dayanand Social Security Scheme(DSSS). A waiting list will be created in a hierarchy on first come first serve basis if the department receives application more application over and above the capping limit. Govt has amended the DSSS scheme to this effect. Annual family income of the applicant shall not exceed Rs. 1.50 Lakhs, states the amendment. Widow having youngest child less than 21 years of age shall be eligible for financial assistance of Rs. 4000 per month, the amendment adds. All other women whose husband’s have expired and are eligible under the scheme will get financial assistance of Rs 2,500 per month. The widow eligible for the financial assistance under the DSSS will not be able to avail the benefits of Griha Aadhar scheme.
