Month long State Legislative Assembly Session to commence tomorrow

Digital Goa, July 17 – Over 2,300 Legislative Assembly Questions(LAQs) have been raised by the 40 legislators for the State Legislative Assembly Session commencing tomorrow. Rajya Sabha Member of Parliament election was to be held in the assembly on July 24. However, since only one candidate, BJP’s Sadanand Shet Tanavade has filed nomination, he will be announced elected unopposed. Discussion on the state budget presented by Chief Minister Pramod Sawant in the March 2023 session will also be held during this session. The month-long 5th session of the assembly , with 18 days sitting, will conclude on August 10. The days of the sittings are as follows – July 18 to July 21, July 24 to July 28, July 31 to Aug 4 and Aug 7 to Aug 10. United opposition comprising of Congress, AAP, Goa Forward and Revolutionary Goans Party have collectively decided on a floor plan to corner the govt on issues of importance to the state.
