Feb 18 – The Mormugao Municipal Council (MMC) has issued a public notice directing general public, business houses and enterprises within its jurisdiction to clear all their pending dues immediately. Pointing out that all the lessees of the properties in Mormugao Municipal Council jurisdiction have not submitted updated Lease agreements for the purpose of house tax,MMC has asked leaseholders to submit the same immediately. MMC has warned that non-compliance will lead to strict action, including sealing of premises and withdrawal of No Objection Certificates (NOCs) for electricity and water connections. These penalties will be imposed without further notice, and defaulters will bear the associated costs, the notice further warns. MMC noticehas also highlighted that many of the businesses in the Municipal jurisdiction of Mormugao Municipal Council are operating without valid Trade License. The notice is part of the municipalities intensive revenue mobilisation drive.
