Jan 17 – Children’s Court has sentenced a 34-year-old woman to life imprisonment for allegedly murdering her own 5-month-old child by beating her up with a chapati rolling pin in a fit of rage. The accused is identified as Arminda Dora Fernandes. The incident had occurred at Sirsaim, Bardez in August 2022. Incidentally, Arminda was also admitted to IPHB a few days after the incident. Court has also slapped a fine of Rs 1.10 lakh on her.
