Digital Goa, July 9 – Calangute Police arrested a 26-year-old man in the early hours of Thursday after allegedly finding a country-made pistol and two live rounds of ammunition in his possession during a raid near the Helipad at Sinquerim, Candolim. According to police, the raid was conducted between 2.01 am and 3.07 am, during which Ajit Kumar Rai, a native of Madhya Pradesh, was found in possession of a locally made pistol (katta) and two unfired cartridges kept in Goa registered scooter. Police said the accused failed to produce any valid licence or legal documents for the firearm, which is prohibited.
