Aug 5 – No Development Slope (NDS), low lying fields etc will be protected while converting land through the new amendment of 39 A of TCP Act. As per 39 A, public are given time till 30 days to raise objections and suggestions to zone change applications, said TCP Minister Vishwajeet Rane. He was replying to demands for departments under him.
LoP Yuri Alemao pointed out that one crore forty lakh sqr meter has been converted through 7,800 cases under 16B. Twenty one lakh twenty one thousand were converted in last 15 months, he added. When Yuri alleged that the TCP bill amendment which was withdrawn planned to bring the land conversions ‘out of court purview’, Rane claimed that it was a validation point put by the Law Dept and that it is there in every bill.
