Digital Goa, May 25 – National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 will be implemented at the Higher Education level in Goa from this academic year, announced Goa University vice-chancellor Harilal B Menon today. NEP will be implemented for First Year degree students this academic year and present second and third year degree classes will go on as per old pattern. The new four-year degree programmes under NEP 2020 will be flexible, interdisciplinary, skill based and have multiple entry and exit options. If a student chooses to leave after one year with a certificate or after two years with a diploma or complete a 3 year degree. For a student leaving after taking a certificate or diploma, he or she will have the option to return within seven years to complete the degree. A student can also complete four years of the programme and get a BA ‘honours’ degree, or opt for research work in the eighth semester and earn a BA, BSc, or BCom ‘honours with research’ degree.
