Digital Goa, September 9, 2025 – CM Pramod Sawant on Tuesday said that a new Lokayukta for Goa will be appointed at the earliest. The Lokayukta, which investigates cases of corruption and maladministration in government, has been non-functional for the past eight months, since the tenure of Justice (retd) Ambadas Joshi of the Bombay High Court ended in December 2024. The state government has so far received the names of three retired judges—from Goa, West Bengal, and Andhra Pradesh—for consideration. State has also sought additional recommendations from the High Court and Supreme Court before finalising the appointment.
