No development to be allowed within 150 metres of Bondvol Lake says TCP minister

Digital Goa, Jan 26 – No development permissions will be granted within a 150-metre radius of Bondvol Lake in St Cruz, even in areas where settlement permissions already exist, informed TCP Minister Vishwajeet Rane. He said he had a detailed discussion with Fr Richard Pinhero, Parish Priest of St Cruz in this regards following which the decision has been taken. Rane said he reviewed the issue concerning development around the lake and took the decision based on concerns raised and the sentiments of residents in the peripheral areas. The minister further clarified that no higher or additional Floor Space Index (FSI) will be allowed around Bondvolli Lake, despite the permissible limit being 80. “Any higher FSI, if allotted, will be cancelled by the Board,” Rane said. He also pointed out that the properties in question, along with others around Bondvol Lake, were converted under the Regional Plan 2021 when Goa was under a Congress government, and that large-scale plotting approvals were granted during that period
