Digital Goa, Jan 6 – No new variant of covid has not been found in Goa as on date. The very few cases of covid which are reported are also caused due to Omicron sub variant, informed state epidemiologist Dr Prashant Suryavanshi. Swab sample of every covid positive patient is sent for genome sequencing as per new guidelines issued by the center, he added. With just one or two cases being reported from 500 to 600 samples being tested on a daily basis, Goa is at its best position as compared to the last 2 years as regards covid pandemic, he added.
Incidentally, State recorded 3 more covid cases today from 460 samples tested. With 1 recovery active caseload stands at 10.
