Sept 27 – TCP minister has asked Curtorim MLA to give representation to his dept of cases where change of zone has occurred illegally. We will put it before the TCP board and scrap the conversions if the need be, Minister Vishwajeet Rane told Curtorim MLA Reginaldo Lourenco. No one has stopped us from taking corrective actions, he asserted. TCP Dept will not process a single application related to Curtorim hill cutting where the set gradient norms are not followed, Rane said. Development of hilly areas will not be allowed, he said adding that that govt is contemplating of tweaking the law to increase the hill cutting gradient threshold to more than 25%. In the last 2.5 years 900 to 950 FIRs have been filed by TCP Dept against land related illegalities. For genuine cases we may appoint an additional scrutiny committee, he said further.
▪️ Upgrading SGDH to make it tertiary hospital
Meanwhile, Rane undertook a surprise inspection at South Goa District Hospital today. SGDH should evolve into a tertiary hospital, and we are focused on upgrading services to meet this goa, he said.
