Jan 22- High Court has not entertained the civil application filed by the Internet & TV Cable Network Operators seeking protection from removal of cables by the State Electricity Department. The Court has however granted them the liberty to apply to the govt for permission for laying the cables. The next hearing in the matter is scheduled after 2 weeks. “ New rules have come into force from Jan 1,2025 wherein they are expected to take permission from competent authorities. They have neither applied for permissions nor have they got the permission,” informed AG Devidas Pangam. This implies that the Electricity Dept can continue with the action they have initiated against cables tied to the electricity poles.
