Digital Goa, Nov 3 – Goa DGP Alok Kumar today asserted that the state has not witnessed any rise in crime compared to previous years, stating that the perception of increased crime is largely driven by heightened social media activity. “If you compare head to head, even with past several years, there is no increase in crime figures. However, social media has become so active that any event gets magnified,” the DGP said. On the NCB arrest of Dawood aide Danish Merchant in Goa, the DGP said the accused had no criminal activity in the state, but added that police are working on ways to track criminal elements entering Goa as tourists.
