Digital Goa, Mar 21 – Panaji’s Smart City project has installed 3,088 Smart Water Meters at a cost of Rs 8.54 crore, reducing Non-Revenue Water (NRW) from 61% to 14%, addressing a 47% revenue loss, and saving 4.8 crore liters of water annually, informed officials. Phase 2 will invest Rs 18 crore for 8,000 more smart meters, infrastructure upgrades, and SCADA-based real-time monitoring. The initiative is expected to save 12.19 crore liters of water annually.
