North Goa officials trained to tackle bull fight, animal cruelty

Digital Goa, Sept 10, 2025 – A training programme on Animal Protection Laws, focusing on bull fight (‘Dhirio’) incidents, was held at the North Goa Collectorate. Officials from police, panchayats, municipalities, animal husbandry, and SDMs from various Talukas participated. Advocate Meet Ashar of PETA India highlighted legal provisions under the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1960, the responsibilities of animal owners, and procedures for filing complaints and conducting investigations. The session aimed to equip officials to handle animal cruelty cases effectively.
