Oct 8- State Transport Dept has given public service vehicles time till November 30, 2024 to fit their vehicles with vehicle location tracking device and one or more emergency buttons. Department has also specified that if vehicles have such devices and they are not working then they should also be repaired by Nov 30. The tracking device and emergency button can be purchased from any vendor provided that the device and button are complying with AIS-140 standards, states a notice issued in this regards. Earlier the govt had mandated that the devices need to be purchased from specific vendors.
