Oct 6 – Fatorda Police have registered offence against Pratima Coutinho and 500 others for forming unlawful assembly, blocking the road and obstructing the public yesterday. The protestors were demanding arrest of Subhash Velingkar over his remark on St Francis Xavier. The FIR also adds that the protestors used criminal force against police personnel by pelting stones on them while they were discharging their lawful duties at Old Market Circle. Offences have been registered under sections 189 (2) (3), (5), 285, 223 (a) (b), 126 (2), 125, 324 (1), 132, 115 (2) R/w 191 (2), of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita 2023 and Section 8B of The National Highway Act.
