Old Goa Exposition 2024 expenditure estimated at Rs 300 crore: CM

Aug 23- Estimated expenditure for the St Francis Xavier decadal Exposition at Old Goa will be around Rs 300 crore, informed CM Pramod Sawant. Sawant was speaking to media persons after taking a review of the of the existing infrastructure, requirement of enhancement & new infrastructure, traffic and other arrangements at Old Goa. He said Rs 200 crore worth infrastructure and other works have already commenced or are in pipeline. Sawant also informed that the state govt has also asked the Center for funds. Efforts will be made to make the 45 days exposition commencing from Nov 24 as a best benchmark event, stated Sawant. He also informed that ongoing Chimbel bypass road work will be completed before the exposition.
▪️ Dedicated portal for pilgrim registration
A dedicated web portal will be launched soon for registration of pilgrims, CM further informed. Govt will help the registered pilgrims with facilities including accommodation etc, he added.
▪️ Pope Francis to be invited for Exposition
Goa govt will extend invitation to Pope Francis for the exposition event informed Sawant. He also added that several VVIPs and international guests are expected to attend the exposition.
