Digital Goa, April 21 – Government is ready to give in writing to 40 Bhoma house owners that their houses will not be affected by the national highway project, said CM Pramod Sawant. He reiterated that only four structures, including two belonging to the same owner, will be impacted and the concerned owners will be compensated with plots and reconstruction assistance. Small kiosks on government-acquired land will also be relocated near the temple premises, he added. Sawant claimed that names of several house owners were included in the acquisition notification due to common survey numbers. 70 odd villagers who came to meet CM were shown the detailed plan by PWD officials during the meeting with CM at Porvorim this morning. “We are constructing a 25-meter-wide road, not 60 meters,” Sawant said. He also pointed out that alternative routes suggested involve eco-sensitive and Khazan lands, which are not viable. Officials will conduct a site visit and explain about the demarcation and the project plan to the villagers tomorrow, he said.
