Digital Goa, Jan 16 – The last day of the Assembly session was marked by protests over the Birch fire incident. Opposition MLAs accused the government of failing to provide clear answers and demanded a CBI investigation and action against ministers and officials involved. Opposition also accused the govt of being secretive about the Magisterial Inquiry report to shield the names of those involved. CM Pramod Sawant said a full inquiry into the club involved is underway and the report will be presented in the next Assembly session. Opposition MLAs held placards and walked into the well of the house demanding CBI inquiry, disrupting proceedings until the question hour ended. CM also informed the house that 86 establishments across Goa were inspected after the incident, with 22 sealed for lacking proper documentation.
