Digital Goa, July 30 – Opposition MLAs today moved a calling attention motion highlighting the urgent need for a Master Plan to safeguard the UNESCO World Heritage sites in Old Goa. They pointed out repeated attempts at illegal constructions within the protected area and demanded strict enforcement of heritage protection regulations. MLA Viresh Borkar criticized TCP Minister Vishwajit Rane, calling him a “U-turn Minister” for failing to fulfill his earlier assurance of demarcating the buffer zone within three months. MLAs also questioned government’s inaction on demolishing the controversial bungalow, despite the TCP department revoking its permission.
