Digital Goa, Nov 7 – High Court today ordered that no construction or sale of land will be permitted till next date of hearing in the over 2 lakh sq mtr land under Anjuna Communidade which is suspected to be taken over by land grabbers by manipulating old Portuguese documents. AG Devidas Pangam said that two properties under Anjuna Communidade, one over 2 lakh sq mtr and other around 32,000 sq mtr are suspected to be grabbed by using the same modus operandi of the land grabbing scam in Goa. Communidade administration has presented an affidavit to this effect before the Court.
The land grabbers have allegedly forged old Portuguese documents to get sale deed and grant of land documents prepared and the same are being used to transfer land as per the new law in the names of third persons without the knowledge of the communidade. Using theses sale deeds construction and other licences are also being obtained, AG informed. The matter has been fixed after Diwali vacation of the Court for further hearing.
