Digital Goa, Jan 19 – Over 26% of the population in Goa is affected with diabetes, pointed out Health Minister Vishwajeet Rane. Directorate of Health Services has introduced a digital diabetes registry for effective monitoring and targeted awareness campaigns, he informed. The State Govt further extended the MoU for the ‘Changing Diabetes Barometer’ (CDB) program with Novo Nordisk Education Foundation (NNEF) today. Under the renewed MoU, ongoing efforts will include the establishment of community diabetes centers, a dedicated foot-care clinic, home visits by diabetes educators, and the organization of mega diabetes camps, all aimed at addressing the escalating diabetes issue in Goa, said the Health Minister.
