Digital Goa, June 21 – Tillari dam water coming to Assnora bandhara will be lifted from there and taken to Padolshe water treatment plant to tide over water shortage due to lowering of the water levels of Anjunem dam, informed WRD Minister Subash Shirodkar. Water level at the Anjunem dam has gone down substantially due to delayed monsoons. The dam is source of water to the Padolshe water treatment plant which supplies water to Sattari, Bicholim, Sakhalim and other areas. The Minister informed that old PWD water pipeline which was used to take water from Valvanti river to Padolshe will be used to reverse flow the water from Assnora to Padolshe. By Saturday we will try to streamline the process and supply water to the surrounding areas in a controlled manner, he added. Incidentally, the Padolshe plant has been closed down due to shortage of water supply.
As Opa water level has increased due to rains in the ghat section, water supply to Shiroda, Ponda, Tiswadi will not be affected. Mhaisal -Panchawadi dam water has also risen due to the rain streamlining water supply to the nearby areas, Shirodkar informed.
