Digital Goa, Sept 18-Panaji police arrest 5 of 6 accused involved in the murderous assault on activist Rama Kanakonkar at Caranzalem. Police identified all six accused through CCTV footage and crime records. Acting on intelligence, one police team nabbed two accused — Anthony Nadar (31) and Francis Nadar (28), both residents of St. Agustinho near Pitbull Gym, St Cruz, Tiswadi — near Dodamarg bus stand. Further interrogation revealed that other accused were planning to flee to Karnataka by train. Acting on this information police traced and arrested three more — Suresh Naik (31), resident of Porvorim; Minguel Araujo (24), resident of St. Agustinho, St. Cruz, Tiswadi; and Manish Hadfadkar (24) — at Margao railway station around 9 pm. Eight teams with 31 personnel, led by SDPO Panaji, were formed to track the culprits. Police informed that all five arrested are history-sheeters. Meanwhile, one more accused is still absconding.
