Digital Goa, Nov r 22 – Panaji is all set to get its Digital Twin, a high-tech virtual replica of the city that will help planners simulate floods, analyse civic infrastructure and make data-driven urban decisions. IPSCDL has floated a tender for the project. Under the project, the selected agency will develop a cloud-based, interactive Web-Geospatial Intelligence Platform that brings together all existing city data—currently scattered across formats such as LiDAR point clouds, shapefiles, KMZ/KML maps and GeoTIFFs—into one centralised system. The platform will allow users to visualise Panaji in detailed 3D, study water, drainage, sewage and road networks, run proximity and category-based analysis, and make precise 2D/3D measurements. IPSCDL said Digital Twin will improve asset management, streamline planning, and support scenario-based modelling—especially for flood mitigation, a growing concern for low-lying Panaji.
