July 10 – Goa police will organize joint drives with Municipal Councils for verification of Servants, Tenants, enforcement of COTPA Act, Non-Biodegradable Garbage Act, Smoking/ Spitting Act. The decision was taken during the conference on Urban Policing chaired by SP North with police officials and representatives of Municipalities in North Goa and CCP in attendance. It was decided that Police and Municipal authorities will work in coordination to curb illegalities. Issues related to handling of garbage dumping, illegal hawkers and vendors, illegal constructions, encroachment on roads and market places etc also came for discussion today.
