Lok Sabha Polls: Rs 16.65 crore worth items including satellite phone seized by Enforcement Agencies in Goa

    Digital Goa, April 24 – Enforcement Agencies seized one satellite phone, 78 mobile phones along with  narcotic drugs, liquor, cash, precious metal and other freebies brought for alleged distribution to voters, together worth Rs 16.65 crore. The seizures are in 38 days from March 16 to April 22 i.e. since the Model Code of Conduct came into force in Goa . This includes Rs 4.6 crore cash and Rs 3.03 crore worth precious metal seized by Income Tax Dept, Rs 9 lakh cash, Rs 72.40 lakh worth liquor, Rs 2.4 crore worth drugs and 78 mobiles worth Rs 5.57 lakh seized by the Police Dept, Rs 1.35 crore worth items seized by  Commercial Tax department, Rs 3.4 crore worth liquor seized by the Excise Dept, Rs 32.55 lakh worth gold and satellite phone worth Rs 76,488 seized by Goa Customs , Rs 71,572 worth liquor seized by Railway Protection Force and Rs 54.22 lakh worth drugs and Rs 40,000 cash seized by NCB including Methamphetamine and ganja.
