Digital Goa, Sept 14 – Ponda Police have registered a case against a police constable from Curti following a complaint lodged by 27-year-old Shreyash Hardikar of Antruz Nagar, Curti. The incident took place on the night of Sept 10, 2025, when the accused constable, identified as Vinod, allegedly assaulted Hardikar with a wooden rod on the neck, damaged his mobile phone, and hurled abuses at him. According to the complaint, the assault occurred after Hardikar confronted the constable for allegedly beating a dog. As per Hardikar’s family police refused to accept the complaint initially. After the video of the incident went viral police initiated action. The family has also demanded that the damaged mobile phone be replaced.
