Digital Goa, August 25 – Porvorim road stretch on NH-66 will not be closed for traffic until after Ganesh Chaturthi, announced CM Pramod Sawant today. He said a decision on the road closure would be taken only after the first five days of the festival and with proper planning. Incidentally, PWD had, on August 14, issued a notice announcing the closure of the left side main carriageway of the existing NH-66, from P55 (O’Coqueiro junction) to P70 (Mall de Goa), for all types of vehicular traffic from August 24, 2025, to January 31, 2026. Sawant clarified that he has now instructed officials not to implement the closure immediately and also repair the potholes on the diversion road first. In the next two days potholes across Goa will also be repaired in a big way, said Sawant.
