Polling personnel and others eligible for postal ballot i.e. absentee voters will now have to cast their votes at designated facilitation centres only, by May 5 i.e. before the Lok Sabha Polls 2024 which are scheduled in Goa on May 7. Such centers will be set up at every RO level, informed CEO Ramesh Verma. Polling agents of political parties have also been permitted at the centers to ensure transparency. In earlier elections postal ballot electors had to cast their ballots by mail rather than in person at a polling station. The Election Commission has recently tweaked the rules in this regards and introduced the concept of voting through polling centers.
