Digital Goa, Jan 10 – Power Minister Sudin Dhavlikar today said that he will answer the queries raised by citizens during the Joint Electricity Regulatory Commission (JERC) public hearing during the State Legislative Assembly commencing on Feb 2. “I will answer the public in State Legislative Assembly,” said Dhavlikar. “This govt will not do anything to put citizens in trouble,”he assured. Rs 3,500 crore worth works are presently ongoing in the state while Rs 2500 crore worth works are scheduled for next year, he said. JERC public hearings were held in North and South Goa on Jan 8 and 9. Citizens from both the districts have vehemently opposed the tariff hike. Dhavlikar also informed that the State has appointed consultant for replacing electric meters with Smart meters as per direction from Union Power Ministry. The work will take 2 to 3 years, he informed.
