Aug 16- Consumers in Goa will soon have to pay some extra amount as deposit for non- biodegradable packaging such as plastic packets, bottles etc. The deposit will be returned back to them when only after they deposit the packaging at the designated collection points. Using provisions under Goa Non-Biodegradable Garbage (Control) Act, govt has notified the procedure for collection and deposit of the non-biodegradable garbage and also for appointment of agency for implementation of Deposit Refund Scheme(DRS). Waste Collection and deposit refund points are to be established at the Corporation City of Panaji (CCP), Municipal Councils and Village Panchayat level for the purpose of collection of DRS Product and for refund of the deposit.
