Dec 17 – Goa Industrial Development Corporation(GIDC) will hold public hearing on Monday, Dec 23 to listen to objections and suggestions regarding M/s World Peace University which is slated to come up at Thivim. Only individuals who have already submitted their objections or suggestions to the Directorate of Industries, Trade, and Commerce are to be be allowed to participate in the hearing, states a notice issued in this regards. Goa Investment Promotion and Facilitation Board (IPB) has proposed designating 200,000 square meters of Communidade owned land in Thivim as an investment promotion area for the World Peace University project after the project received in-principle approval through the state government’s single window clearance system. Public suggestions and objections were sought in this regards. Meanwhile, locals have been consistently opposing the project since its announcement.
