Digital Goa, July 14 – President of India has appointed Pusapati Ashok Gajapathi Raju as the new Governor of Goa. He replaces Governor P S Sreedharan Pillai. The appointment will take effect from the date he assumes charge of office. The announcement was made through a press communique issued by Rashtrapati Bhavan today, July 14. Ashok Gajapathi Raju is a veteran politician and former Union Civil Aviation Minister. As part of the same reshuffle, Prof. Ashim Kumar Ghosh has been appointed as Governor of Haryana, and Kavinder Gupta as Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh. The President has also accepted the resignation of Brig. (Dr.) B. D. Mishra (Retd.) as LG of Ladakh.
