Digital Goa, Nov 4- Builders who do not take prior Water Availability Certificate from PWD and seek water connection for their projects after completion will have to pay 2 times of the applicable water charges for a period of 10 years, warned PWD. “Builders/Developers who have not obtained prior Water Availability Certificate from PWD for domestic and other purposes to their Building/ /Projects and who are now seeking release of water connection for such projects or to any future projects taken up without obtaining prior Water Availability Certificate from PWD shall be bound to pay water charges at a special water tariff i.e. 2 times of the applicable water charges for both Domestic and Non Domestic connections for a initial period of 10 years,” states a notification issued by PWD in this regards. “ It is advisable that the Water Availability Certificate for domestic and other purposes is obtained from the Department by the Developer at the commencement of the project so that no further permission/approval would be required at a later date for release of water connection for such projects. This would also ensure a proper plan for providing water supply to the proposed project(s) and to take up necessary measures by the Department to cater to the additional water demand likely to arrive in future,” the notification adds.
