Digital Goa, July 25 – Question of govt giving permission for Uber to operate in Goa does not arise, asserted Transport Minister Mauvin Godinho. “Govt had decided in the past not to give permission for Ola and Uber, our stand has not changed,” he added. “If we regulate the taxi operators in Goa, things will fall in place,” he opined. “They have been sending us proposals. Every taxi operator wants to come to Goa,” he added. Mauvin went on to inform that a complaint has been filed with the Cybercrime cell against Uber for operating in Goa without formal permission from the authorities. As per the information received they were operating via app, said Mauvin. Cyber crime Cell will take action and revert back to the department , he added. However, when queried if state plans to give permissions to cab aggregators from outside in future, Mauvin said, “Future is always dynamic.”
